The Role

You will be working in a specialist timber staircase manufacturing facility in West Gosford, Central Coast NSW. This is hands-on stair making and machining work in a fast-paced production environment focused on premium quality output. The business covers factory production, machining, and installation and the owner will find the right fit depending on your background.
Whether you call yourself a stair maker, timber stair maker, staircase maker, or specialist joiner, the core requirement is the same: proven stair-making experience and a genuine commitment to craftsmanship.
Day to day you will be across:

• Timber staircase production and machining in a specialist manufacturing environment
• Reading and interpreting technical plans, drawings, and measurements
• Operating factory machinery and equipment used in stair production
• Manufacturing premium timber staircases including straight and curved designs
• Maintaining high quality and precision standards on every job
• Contributing to a skilled, tight-knit production team

Curved staircase experience is a strong bonus and will push you toward the top of the pay range. CAD/CAM knowledge or familiarity with stair design software such as StairBiz, StairCon, or AutoCAD is also highly valued.

What We Need

• Proven timber stair-making experience, non-negotiable — general joiners or carpenters without specific stair experience are not suitable for this role
• Solid understanding of machining operations and factory equipment used in stair production
• Ability to read and interpret technical plans, drawings, and measurements
• Strong attention to detail and pride in craftsmanship
• Reliable and comfortable in a fast-paced production environment
• Genuine willingness to relocate to the Central Coast long-term
