This is a FIFO electrician role based in Kununurra in the far northeast corner of Western Australia, gateway to the Kimberley. You fly in for your swing, accommodation is provided throughout, and you fly home on your break. The work spans domestic, commercial, and industrial electrical services across the entire Kimberley region including remote outback locations. At times you will travel by light aircraft to jobs on site. This is a role for a sparky who loves the outdoors and wants an adventure alongside their trade.

  • Earn 50 AUD per hour plus super
  • Flights paid for travel to and from Kununurra each swing

  • FIFO roster: 5 weeks on and 2 weeks off, or 6 weeks on and 2 weeks off

The Role

Two electrician streams are available depending on your background. Both are FIFO from NZ to Kununurra and offer the same strong rate.

General Maintenance Electrician You will be working across residential, commercial, and industrial electrical maintenance throughout the Kimberley region. This is fault diagnosis, preventive maintenance, and repair work across a wide range of systems. You need to be confident working independently on remote sites without supervision.

New Build / Construction Electrician You will be working on new build electrical installations alongside other trades on active construction sites across the Kimberley. Full electrical fitouts, switchboard installation, and construction electrical work are the core of this role.
Day to day across both roles you will be across:

  • Domestic, commercial, and industrial electrical work across the Kimberley
  • Travelling to remote locations including by light aircraft when required
  • Working independently and self-managing on remote sites
  • Fault diagnosis, preventive maintenance, and repair work across a wide range of systems
  • New build electrical installations and switchboard work
  • Representing the business professionally in front of clients across the region

What We Need

  • Current WA Electrical Licence or NZ equivalent, non-negotiable, NZ licence transfers to WA in approximately 7 to 10 working days
  • For maintenance stream: proven general electrical maintenance experience across residential, commercial, and industrial settings
  • For construction stream: solid new build and construction electrical background
  • Ability to work independently and self-manage on remote sites without supervision
  • Genuine love of the outdoors and an adventurous mindset, remote travel and outback conditions are part of the role
  • Comfortable with a FIFO roster and extended swings away from home
